Memo app as Recipe Organizer software

Wow, it turns out that Memo app is great for storing recipes. At least, that's how I do it.

You can certainly find specialized mobile apps and desktop programs online for this purpose. They allow to create complex, multi-level recipe collections (baked, fried, canned...). Typically, you enter each ingredient in a separate field, the program calculates the calories and you can plan a weekly meal plan using different ingredients (or, conversely, ingredients that you have right now). They also allow you to import recipes from websites or take photos of recipes from books or magazines, create a shopping list on your computer and then access it in the store from your mobile device, share your recipes with friends and family via email or publish them on Facebook and Instagram. You can even create beautiful cookbooks with your recipes for printing or publishing.

But let's be honest - cooking isn't the meaning of life for most people (unless they're professional chefs or food influencers). You probably don't need such a complex recipe storage system and you might not even need a separate app for it.

It's much easier and more convenient to store your recipes in the Memo app. Just create a single "Recipes" tag and add recipes there in a free format, just like in Notepad. Using the search function, you can quickly find the recipe you need by name or ingredient. You can also add images if you like. This gives you a single, universal app for storing useful information and you can open it and find a recipe faster than you find a separate recipe app.

Furthermore, you can link recipes to real-life events - holidays, parties - so you can later find a recipe for a dish you don't remember the name of. For example, you were your sister's birthday party and tried a delicious salad. You also asked her for the recipe and put it down in the Memo app (or a specialized app). Then, a couple of months later, you remember it and want to cook that dish, but you can't remember the name. If you have a specialized app, you'd probably go to the Salads category and scroll for a long time, trying to remember whether it's the right salad or not. But in the Memo app, you can simply search for "Margaret's birthday" and find the right recipe.

By the way, Memo app works in reverse direction, too. You can not only recall recipes by related events, but also recall events by dishes and flavors. One interesting memory exercises is to recall the most delicious tastes that you've ever experienced. And when you recall the taste, other memories from that time are sure to come to mind. Write them down in the Memo app right away!
